Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la.. la la.. la.. la!!! Yes! It is the time of the year where food, gifts, love, happiness and giving is in the air. Of course, who doesn’t want any of the holiday cheer! But we all know after all of the celebration going on, it’s the clutter we aren’t excited about.
So what can we do to cut down holiday clutter? Here are my 5 simple ways to cut down clutter this holiday season.
Re-use decors
If you have old decors lying or kept tuck inside your boxes, re-use them! You no longer need to purchase any decors that may just eat up storage space.
Re-use / DIY your own gift wrappers
Reusing gift wrappers or making your own gift wrappers can save you money and it’s a creative way for you to reduce clutter at home.
Ask help from family members
Cleaning is such a hard task, but cleaning with your children, husband, or with your parents is easier. This fosters cooperation within your family and this could be a good way to teach your children the importance of decluttering and responsibility at home.
Avoid hosting extravagant celebration if necessary
The holidays is all about family. Hosting extravagant parties will just add to your stress, strain your budget and add to the clutter at home. Cook for your family and celebrate at home.
Purge the things you no longer need
If you have a lot things lying around your closet, drawers and cabinets. Clean them out and purge the things you no longer need or your don’t even use too often. Purging creates additional space for those things that matters most to you.
The holidays is for fun and enjoyment so we need to prepare and clean up those things we no longer need and if possible we don’t purchase any more decors that will just add up to your current clutter.
