Summer is almost over. And yes! It’s back to school for kids. How time flies! I understand how moms feel as school days are fast approaching. To avoid stress, here are the things you need to prepare before the school starts.
1. Set the schedule and house rules
It’s better if you prep your kids about the schedule and the things they need to do when school starts. Lay a solid house rule. For example, if it’s a weekday (school day) they need to sleep early, less tv, no video games, and they need to study. Make them understand your rules and schedule it.
2. Check your children’s school supplies
You can also ask your kids to check if they need supplies. If there’s a need to buy, then do your shopping before hand. This is to avoid last minute shopping which may result to long lines at the store and numerous out of stock items.
3. Research and prepare recipes you can cook
One way to cut down expenses is to cook at home. Having to prepare your child’s food can be tedious, but you can work around it as long as you prepare. If you have a menu, you can save time thinking about what food to cook and you know that the food you’re preparing is safe and healthy as well.
4. Inspect your kid’s wardrobe, shoes, uniform etc.
Make sure you check your child’s wardrobe or shoes. This is necessary to avoid the stress of looking for replacements at the last minute instead you get to buy them ahead of time. Look at some clothes that need mending. Doing this can help you save money instead of buying new clothes.
5. Prepare your child’s backpack
When you do this teach your child on how they can do it for themselves. Allow them to understand the importance of responsibility and organization while they’re still young. This activity will help them become responsible in the long run.
