Do you feel so embarrassed having someone inside your car? If you’re like most car owners, they use their car as a one-stop shop for everything. From a closet to sleeping quarters, but let’s face it we always neglect car organization because we’re too comfortable having your stuff inside your car (and it’s also convenient!)
So if you’re having an epiphany that you now need to clean up your car here are my tips on how to organize and declutter your car.
1. Throw out trash – It’s the first and foremost fundamental step you need to go through and that is to declutter and throw out all trash that is inside your car. It can be air freshener containers, receipts, candy wrappers, empty water bottles, etc. You need to remove them and throw them out in order to keep your car organized.
2. Use your door pocket as storage for cleaning materials – You might have been neglecting them for the longest time but these side pockets are really handy to keep your cleaning supplies and rags tucked away for easy access.
3. Use and transform your glove compartment into a mini filing cabinet – So if you’re used to placing stuff in your glove compartment, then use it now to properly organize car documents. It will help you locate them faster, when needed.
4. Add a car trash bin – To keep your car clean all the time, have a trash bin inside your car. You can use plastic as well, to keep your trash away from places that would just create clutter in the long run.
5. Utilize the vertical space of your back seat – So if you have a lot of things to store in your car consider getting a vertical organizer (just like below) where you can tuck in some of your things.
Keeping your car organized isn’t so much a hassle than you might think it is. You just need to be creative and first of all clean. You need to clean your car so as to avoid insects and molds living in your car.
