Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! How was your thanksgiving? I just love how we get to spend this holiday with our family and friends, to say our thanks and be grateful for a year full of blessings.
This festivity ain’t complete if we don’t have food to get along with the celebration. I love cooking and I just love to prepare enormous amount of food during Thanksgiving (so scared of running out) and because I also share food with neighbors and the less fortunate as well. Most of the time I get carried away and I just have a lot of leftovers. So what am I going to do?
Well on this post I’m gonna share best ways on how you can store leftovers from thanksgiving.
Cool Down Leftovers
The first you need to do in storing leftovers is you need to let it cool down to avoid spoilage. Quickly cool them out and place them on plastic containers in your fridge. You can also remove turkey stuffing as it’s the first thing that would get spoiled, carve your turkey so as to save space on containers.
Label and put dates on your containers
In storing leftovers, you need to place labels and dates on your containers so you could be reminded until when you can consume the food. Also, it would allow you to check what food is in the container without opening.
Don’t leave food at room temperature too long
Why? Because by the time you finish eating the food, its already good to be stored in the fridge. Storing your leftovers asap will help in stoping the bacteria from growing.
Well I guess for me the best way to do with leftovers is to share. Share them with less fortunate people and just give. I guess this thanksgiving we honor the people who have given, shared, loved and helped a little more than they can to the community and to humanity.
